Amateur Radio Class - Milo - Starts Jan. 5, 2012


The Piscataquis Amateur Radio Club (PARC) will be holding an American Radio Relay League (ARRL) sanctioned entry level Technician Amateur Radio class starting Thursday, January 5th and running for 9 weeks with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Technician Class exam given on the 10th week. The class will be held at the Piscataquis County Emergency Operations Bunker at 54 Sargent Hill Drive, Milo. Classes will run every Thursday from 6 to 8 PM. Instructors for this class are Amateur Extra Class license holders and ARRL registered instructors Ken Worster (KB1UJS), George Dean (WA1JMM) and Dr. Ben Kittredge (WA1PBR). These instructors are also ARRL/FCC Volunteer Examiners. We will be using the ARRL approved license manual which is available either to purchase or on loan to students 1st come first served. Cost to purchase the book is $25. Loaned books require a $5 deposit which will be refunded at the end of the class on books returned in good condition. Cost of the exam on the 10th week is $15.
