About Piscataquis ARC

The Piscataquis Amateur Radio Club was founded in 1994. We are a small club with about 40 members. Population density is low here so we are quite spread out.

We help provide communications support for local events such as the Piscataquis River Race and the 100 Mile Wilderness Sled Dog Race. The club also participates in ARRL Field Day. We sponsor the St. Albans hamfest in August.

We have a repeater operating from the EOC on Seargent Hill in Milo. It is on 147.210 MHz with a CTCSS tone of 71.9 Hz. This is a portable repeater that can very quickly and easily be taken to wherever it might be needed for an event or emergency. It consists of a Kenwood TKR-750 repeater and two power supplies (primary and backup) mounted in one transit case, Telewave duplexer in another case, and a small battery case which allows almost instant setup at any location.
